My 4 year old daughter is now the proud owner of a male & female Betta. They were bought for her by my Dad and Stepmom for her fourth birthday.. The male is currently in a large vase and I put the female in my 30 gal community livebearer tank. She seems ok in there..Ive never kept a female betta. The male black Molly is trying to mate with her though..I will have to watch them and see. Does anyone have any experience keeping female bettas in communities?

I had a female years ago in a community tank and it didn't turn out well. She was extremely aggressive tho, more than any female I've seen and quite large for a female. My male was scared of her! But, normally anything I've read has been an opposite situation and they've got along great, so I'm guessing my situation was a bit out of the norm. Just keep an eye on them all, especially with the molly being so insistant, she may decide she's had enough and really turn the tables!

Thank you, That was what I was thinking but I needed a little reassurance. I will keep an eye on her.

Lilly isn't very brightly colored of course, but I think her colors are pretty, this pic really doesn't do her justice

She's very pretty and unusual, I like her I seen a male like that about a week ago, loved the color. Things so far so good with her the other fish in the tank?

I was thinking everything looked ok in there but now it seems my smallest gray cory has a red mark by his right pectoral fin. Kinda like in his armpit but at the back angle like he was bit from behind..Theres no illness in the tank and there was no biting at all before she was put in there so I believe I'm gonna need to find another vase for her.. that's disappointing, I was really hoping she would do good in there

I have moved her into her own vase, and the little cory is already looking better, his red spot is just pink and he looks fine

Good, glad to hear he's ok. Corys are cuties she probably looks great in a vase too, she's an eye catcher.

Here's pics of their new homes and a solo one of Peter Hoping to get a better pic of Lily today, when I was taking these she was not happy with me seeing as I had just taken her from a 30 gal tank to a vase lol she just kept looking at me and every time I would raise my camera phone she would do something very non-photogenic lol
